The Export Control Department of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The export control system is intended to ensure that strategic goods, services and technology are only exported from Norway in accordance with Norwegian security and defence policy, and that exports of dual-use goods do not contribute to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (nuclear, chemical and biological weapons) or their means of delivery.

The regulations adopted today bring Norway’s restrictive measures against Russia in line with those of the EU. The Norwegian Government will maintain a close dialogue with the business community to assess the consequences of the measures for the various sectors affected. It is very important that all market players on the Norwegian-Russian market remain updated on the latest developments. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has opened a service telephone line for Norwegian companies affected by the new restrictive measures.
