NRCC & Innovation Norway: Russia Breakfast Meeting - 12 March, 2015 

Speaker at breakfast meeting was H. E. Ambassador Ole Johan Bjørnøy from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Astana, the Republic of Kazakhstan. The topic of the meeting: "Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and Kazakhstan: Challenges and Opportunities".

Ole Johan Bjørnøy is a Norwegian diplomat, Cand. Mag. He began his service in the Foreign Ministry in 1988 and has, inter alia, held a position as vice-consul at the Norwegian Consulate General in Murmansk.
In 2012 he was appointed Norwegian Ambassador to Kazakhstan.

CCI-Inform: Russia's 19th St. Petersburg Economic Forum to focus on anti-crisis plan 

New global challenges, such as plunging oil prices and slowing world economies, the emerging economic blocks, as well as Russia’s anti-crisis plan, will be center stage at the 19th Economic Forum in St. Petersburg scheduled for June 18-20, 2015. The meeting is being entitled “Time to Act: Shared Paths to Stability and Growth”.

One of the key topics at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) will be Russia’s economic game plan at a time when both the global and the domestic economies are losing steam.
The session called “Russia: Seizing the opportunities” will feature “discussions and presentations dedicated to Russian industrial policy, structural reforms, crisis management measures, the shift to domestic sources of capital, monetary policy, regional development and continued steps to improve the Russian investment environment,” according to a news release Thursday.

Norwegian-Russian Business Journal №2 (in English with Russian summaries)


The Norwegian-Russian Business Journal is the member journal for NRCC members. 
The second issue was published in January 2015 and contains articles about NRCCs organization and its recent activities: highlights from the IV Norwegian-Russian Business Forum, organized in Moscow on 10-11 December by the NRCC and CCI of Russia; one-day business trip to Kaluga; development and implementation of Norway-Russia Barents Region tourism project. Series of articles Look to Finland by editor Knut A. Mugaas examines lessons to be learned from the long and close economic cooperation between Finland and Russia. Among other topics are news from NRCC member companies, discussions about Norwegian-Russian business cooperation in the High North, interviews with VIPs, interview with Kåre Karlstad with the discussion of his new book Warm warrior in a cold period, and other subjects of relevance to the economic cooperation between Russia and Norway.

NRCC Networking Meeting in Oslo - 2 February 2015

Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce has organized a networking meeting in Oslo at the premises of the member company Multiconsult on February 2nd. Present were some 55 representatives from Norwegian and Russian authorities (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries of Norway, Embassy of the Russian Federation, Russian Trade Mission in Norway), Russian and Norwegian companies and organizations (Research Council of Norway, Innovation Norway, NHO, NUPI, GIEK, Jotun, Norwegian Seafood Federation, Telenor, Technip and many others).

Å gjøre forretninger i Russland» - is a new handbook on how Norwegian businesses can do business in Russia. The book is packed with tips, reviews, and experiences of Norwegian business people in Russia. The author is Katerina Smetanin, who has worked with Norwegian-Russian relations for 20 years, including in the Norwegian Trade Council and Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce.
