NRCC & INSOK Russia Seminar was held in Stavanger on 13 October: “Still business opportunities for Norwegian enterprises in the Russian Oil & Gas market”

Solid participation at Russia seminar in Stavanger, where representatives from companies working in the oil and gas idustry field, as well as Norwegian and Russian officials, gathered to discuss relevant issues. The meeting was held at Måltidets Hus. NRCC organized the seminar in close cooperation with INTSOK.
Informative lectures were followed by lively discussions and informal networking sessions. Kick-off for Young Entrepreneurship Students in Murmansk, 22-24 September 2015

30 students from Norway and Russia have started their 6 months programme in international entrepreneurship focusing on business strategies. This year the business case is developed in close cooperation with Olen Betong Murmansk, and the CEO, Mr. Atle Berge is overlooking the very first introduction to the students.
Atle Berge, had to choose between participation at a reunion of his University Alumni or at this Matchmaking Entrepreneurs Program Young Engrepreneurs Norway-Russia. He underlined to the students why he never was in doubt what to prioritize:
“ It is crucial that young people like yourselves develop goods skills and develop future business to the benefit of fruitful international and bilateral business cooperation. I wanted to meet you all in person to give you this advice and message”.

Students are happy with the first day`s innovation workshop, guided by the Young Entrepreneurs Norway/Junior Achievement Russia. 

Russia breakfast meeting with Chris Weafer

Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise invite their memebrs to Russia Breakfast Meeting with Chris Weafer. Topic of the meeting is "Russian Economy: Status and Perspectives". The meeting will be held at at NHO headquarters in Oslo (Middelthuns gate 27, Majorstuen).

Christopher Weafer is the founding partner of Macro-Advisory Ltd, an independent macro consultancy which provides macro economic, political and business trend advice for business managers and investors working in Russia, the Eurasian Union and across the broader Eurasia region.

Christopher has worked in Russia and the CIS for more than seventeen years. Networking meeting in St. Petersburg, 22 September 2015

On 22 September, the NRCC Networking Meeting took place in St. Petersburg, in the facilities of NRCC member company Hotel Radisson Royal.

Russian and Norwegian NRCC member companies and organizations participated in the meeting, as well as as officials from both countries

The meeting was opened by welcome speech from Mr. Rune O. Methi, NRCC Communications Manager and moderator of the meeting. Speakers were Kristin Høiby, Senior adviser and coordinator for NORRUSS programme from the Research Council of Norway; Per Horn, Senior Vice President of Multiconsult ASA; Linda Beate Randal, Director of Innovation Norway Finnmark; Rolf Andreas Wallin, Director, Sales & Marketing Maritime of Jotron AS and Natalia Wilke, Lawyer from Beiten Burkhardt Attorneys-at-Law. 

Jarle Forbord, Managing Director of the NRCC, presented update and comments regarding bilateral trade in the 1st  half of 2015 and NRCC activities. After the end of the meeting, NRCC has invited participants to the networking session with refreshments.   

FNI's report: "Common Sea, Common Challenges"

On request from the Norwegian Fishermen's Association and its partners, researchers from the Fridtjof Nansen's Institute have published a report "Common Sea, Common Challenges: A Comparison of Framework Conditions for the Fishery Sector in Norway and Russia". The report was presented in Tromsø on 15 September 2015 during the Norwegian-Russian conference where representatives from fisheries associations from Norway and Russia, researchers from the Tromsø University as well as governmental agencies and institutions involved in bilateral cooperation participated.
The 85-pages long report presents a concentrated insight into Norwegian-Russian cooperation within fisheries sector in Norway and Russia and how the industry is organized in the two countries.

8th International Conference “Arctic Shelf Development: Step by Step”


Nonprofit organization “Association of arctic projects contractors “Murmanshelf” invites you to participate in the 8th International Conference «ARCTIC SHELF DEVELOPMENT: STEP BY STEP».

The Conference will take place in Murmansk on the 16th – 17th of November, 2015,Congress-hotel "Meridian",supported by the Government of the Murmansk Region in the framework of the IV Murmansk International Business Week.

Program of the conference includes plenary sessions, discussions at the round tables and business meetings.

Main issues:
• Russian Arctic shelf. Current condition, problems and prospects of oil and gas development;
• Prospects for international cooperation in the development of the offshore projects in the conditions of economic recession;
• Technological support of the offshore oil and gas projects;
• Improvement of the legislation for the development of oil and gas resources on the continental shelf of the Russian Federation;
• Ecological safety during development of hydrocarbon resources on the continental shelf;
• Development of oil spill response competence center in the Arctic;
• Implementation of exploration programs in the Arctic;
• Shipbuilding for offshore projects.

Traditionally, the conference is attended by more than 200 oil and gas companies which specialize in exploration, production and refinery of hydrocarbon raw materials, suppliers of oil and gas industry, scientific and research institutes, educational institutions, legislative and executive authorities.
