On September 15th, the NRCC Networking Meeting took place in Oslo, in the facilities of the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO).

Katarina Sætersdal, Senior Advisor at Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise, presented the Russian managers taking part in the annual Presidential Program. The main objective of the program is to increase the mutual understanding and cooperation between Norway and Russia, and to contribute to reform development in the neighbouring country. Giving young business managers and civil servants – Russia’s future leaders – an opportunity to develop their skills according to international practice and to exchange experiences and points of view with colleagues abroad is an important way of contributing to this objective.
Second speaker, Erik Haukaa, head of East Capital Oslo Office, presented "Economic outlook for Russia 2nd half of 2014". Among other things, Erik discussed geopolitical impact on the recent economic slowdown in Russia.
Next presentation by Sven Lexner, Managing Partner for Mannheimer Swartling in Russia, was "International sanctions over Russia - From a legal point of view". Sven has updated meeting participants on the latest economic restricitive measures. Sven also discussed the application of the individual and sectoral sanctions, giving advice to Norwegian companies on how to do things right.

Katerina Smetanina, writer and journalist, has introduced her newely published book "When Ivar meets Ivan: Doing Business in Russia". The book is an excellent practical tool for those seeking a better understanding of Russia, primarily as a market but also as a community inhabited by 143 million very different people - often different from Norwegians, but also very different among themselves.
At the end of the meeting, Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise has invited participants to the networking session with refreshments.
