Mr. Reidar Karlsen

Consultant in Business Development and Management

Karlsen1Mr. Karlsen holds board positions in several Norwegian and Russian companies. Reidar Karlsen is former Executive Vice President in A-pressen ASA responsible for the company`s media activities in Russia.
Since 1996 he has established A-pressen's business in Russia including newspapers and printing houses, and was heavily involved also operationally. Reidar Karlsen was in this respect member of the Board of Directors of Russia's major daily Komsomolskaya Pravda, as well is in the national sports newspaper Sovietsky Sport and other newspapers in Russia.
Before joining the Russia team in A-pressen, he has worked within the company's national business, among others as General Director in Arbeiderbladet (now Dagsavisen). Reidar Karlsen has broad experience from business development and management from senior positions in media, energy sector, and aviation.
His basic education is military - he left the Army with the rank of Lt Colonel.
Reidar Karlsen has been a NRCC Board Member since establishment of the Chamber in 2003. In 2012 he resigned Board member position and become Chairman of the NRCC Council.

Mr. Jens P. Heyerdahl d.y.

Heyerdahl bigMr. Jens P. Heyerdahl d.y. is a lawyer and investor. As former CEO of Orkla (1979-2001), Mr. Heyerdahl developed the concern from a middle-size mining and metallurgy company, to a solid Scandinavian group of companies with diversified activities. Under his management, Orkla made several strategically investments in Russia in the early 1990ies, amongst these in the Baltica breweries in the St. Petersburg region, - at that time the largest Norwegian investment in the young Russian state.
When Mr. Heyerdahl started as CEO in 1979, Orkla had a few hundred employees and a turnover of approx. NOK 300 million. When he stepped down as CEO in 2001, the Group has grown to 35 000 employees and had 45 billion in turnover.
Mr. Jens P. Heyerdahl d.y. and his family controls a major holding of share in the newspaper Dagbladet.
Mr. Heyerdahl holds several board positions, and has extensive business contacts both in private and public sector.
Mr. Jens P. Heyerdahl d.y. has an MBA at INSEAD in France, and was formerly one of the best jumping riders.

Mr. Bengt Lie Hansen

Hansen bigMr. Bengt Lie Hansen is an independent consultant within Oil & Gas sector, a lawyer and previously held several leading positions in Norwegian Oil & Gas companies. In 2010 he joined law firm Selmer as non-equity partner. He is a former President of StatoilHydro Russia up to summer 2010. From September 2004, he was in charge of Hydro's Schtokman-project. Prior to that, Mr. Lie Hansen was in charge of Hydro's activities in the Midlands of Norway and thus as well Chairman of the Board of the Ormen Lange project. He joined Hydro in 1983, and has had several leading positions within gas, research, economy, strategy and commercial activities.
Lie Hansen holds a professor II position at the University of Nordland, Bodoe.

Mr. Johan P. Barlindhaug

President of the Board of North Energy AS

 

barlindhaug bigMr. Johan P. Barlindhaug is presently President of the Board of North Energy AS, Alta. Previously Barlindhaug founded and managed the consultancy company Barlindhaug in Tromsoe up to 2004. Mr. Barlindhaug also served as chair of the Governmental Regional Commission of Norway (Distriktskommisjon) which in 2004 brought forward proposals regarding development of a Norwegian regional policy. He has acted as advisor for various oil companies and Norwegian authorities regarding development of the Norwegian High North and is a frequent lecturer. He holds a Professor II position at the University of Nordland and has for the last three decades been an active and outspoken expert on development of bilateral business relations with the Russian Federation in the Northern areas.
On the 20th of November 2009, Mr. Barlindhaug was appointed a Commander of the Order of Saint Olav by King Harald V of Norway "for social useful activity”. It was also said that the decision regarding the award was taken by reason "of Barlindhaug’s important role in social and economic development in northern Norway”.
In 1995 Mr. Barlindhaug was made an officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
